Jean-Clair Todibo talks future amid France call-up

France and OGC Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo has spoken out about his future plans and his call-up to the France squad ahead of the Euro 2024 qualifying fixtures against the Netherlands and Ireland. Despite being under contract with Nice until 2027, Todibo has not ruled out a potential move, stating that he would make any decision with “a lot of thought”. The following was transcribed by RMC Sport.

“I don’t know if it would be the right choice to go elsewhere,” Todibo said at a press conference. “It’s not the time to think about it. I am much more serene about this now, and if I am called upon to make a choice, I will do it with a lot of reflection.”

Todibo expressed his gratitude towards Nice, emphasising that he owes them a lot and hopes to repay them by giving his all for Les Aiglons. “I am very grateful to Nice. They have given me a lot, and I hope to give back as much as possible by wearing this shirt.”

The young defender also spoke about how his personal life has helped him find peace and stability on and off the pitch. “What allowed me to find peace is my personal life. I found my wife, and I have stabilised. My arrival at Nice has also given me sporting stability.”
