The full UEFA Euro 2024 group stage draw

The UEFA Euro 2024 group stage draw has been made this Saturday December 2nd. Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie hosted the ceremony with several household names in European football, such as David Silva, Gianluigi Buffon or Blaise Matuidi given the responsibility to decide what the Euro 2024 group stage will look like.

Tournament hosts Germany will kick off proceedings against Scotland on Friday June 14th at Munich’s Allianz Arena. Due to their spot in Pot 4, Euro 2020 winners Italy have been handed a tough group with Spain, Croatia and Albania. 2022 World Cup runners-up France have been drawn in Group D, where they will face Austria, Netherlands and the play-off winner A. Gareth Southgate’s England will lock horns with Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia in Group C

Only 21 nations have been drawn tonight considering the final three berths will be handed to play-offs winners. Twelve teams will contest the play-offs in March, based on their performances in the 2022/23 Nations League. The three play-offs winners have been drawn in Pot 4.

The 24-team tournament’s format will be the same as the two previous UEFA Euros. The top two in each of the six groups proceed to the round of 16 along with the four best third-placed finishers, meaning only eight teams bow out of the tournament before the knockout stage. The Euro 2024 final will be held at Berlin’s Olympiastadion on Sunday July 14th.
