Chelsea studying possibility of Kylian Mbappé offer

RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting that Chelsea are interested in Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé (24).

The Mbappé saga took its latest turn on Friday. The France captain was omitted from PSG’s squad for the pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea. The move is PSG’s latest attempt to put pressure on Mbappé, who was given an ultimatum by President Nasser Al-Khelaifi earlier this month: trigger the one-year extension in the contract, or be sold.

Officially, Mbappé wants to remain at PSG next season, but he has no interest in extending his contract beyond the end of the 2023/24 season. PSG believe that Mbappé has a pre-contract agreement to join Real Madrid in 2024, however, in the wake of the latest twist, more clubs have been altered to Mbappé’s availability.

According to Hawkins, Chelsea are interested in Mbappé and are studying the possibility of making the transfer. No offer has been submitted. The French journalist adds that another English club are interested in the 2018 World Cup winner.

Foot Mercato also reported Saudi Arabian interest in Mbappé earlier on Saturday. This interest has been confirmed by Hawkins, who reports that Al Hilal want to offer the Frenchman €400m over two years, plus a €200m transfer fee to PSG.
