Luis Enrique on “diamond” Warren Zaïre-Emery: “His biggest quality is his humility.”

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique was full of praise for 17-year-old midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against AC Milan.

Zaïre-Emery broke into the PSG first-team under Christophe Galtier last season but has become displaceable under new manager Luis Enrique. He has featured in 10 of Les Parisiens’ first 11 Ligue 1 games and has two goals and five assists in 13 appearances in all competitions.

His form has already earned him the captain’s armband for the France U21 side and it is expected that he will earn a first call-up to the senior side. Didier Deschamps names his Bleus squad on Thuraday 9th November. Luis Enrique has praised the young French midfielder, who is once against expected to start against AC Milan on Tuesday.

“Warren is a diamond. He is still young so naturally, there are still things to improve. He plays in relation to his teammates. He knows where to go on the pitch – it’s the sign of a great player. It is easy to coach a player like him with his innate characteristics. His biggest quality is his humility. He is 17-years-old. It comes from his education I think and from his parents,” said Luis Enrique.
