Marseille predicted XI v Lyon: In-form Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to start, Iliman Ndiaye suspended

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to once again start ahead of Vitinha as Olympique de Marseille host Olympique Lyonnais in a rearranged fixture on Wednesday night.

The match was initially scheduled to take place on 29th October, however, after Marseille fans’ attack on Lyon’s team bus, which left then-manager Fabio Grosso with a facial injury that required stitches, the game was ultimately abandoned.

Marseille go into the match off the back of a much-needed victory over Stade Rennais, however, Iliman Ndiaye received a red card during that fixture and he will therefore be absent for the match against Lyon. There are not any fresh injury concerns for Gennaro Gattuso to deal with. Valentin Rongier, who underwent surgery back in November, is the only absentee. The captain is expected to make his return early in 2024.

Marseille likely lineup v Lyon

Pau Lopez; Ronan Lodi, Leonardo Balerdi, Chancel Mbemba, Jonathan Clauss; Jordan Veretout, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Azzedine Ounahi; Ismaila Sarr, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Amine Harit.
