Official | Presnel Kimpembe signs contract extension with PSG until 2026

PSG have officially confirmed that Presnel Kimpembe (28) has signed a two year contract extension with the club lasting until 2026. Doubts had arisen on the France international’s future but these have now been eradicated following the 28-year-old putting pen to paper on a new deal with his boyhood club.

Kimpembe has been out of action for PSG since February following an achilles tendon rupture against Marseille. There had been hopes at the Parc des Princes that the PSG youth product would be able to return to action during the new year after returning to training in November. However, a new setback in his recovery could mean that he is set to undergo further surgery on the achilles tendon. This will once again rule him out of action for the rest of the season.

With his previous contract coming to an end in 2024 and an injury potentially keeping him from playing until next season, the possibility existed that Kimpembe had played his final game for the Ligue 1 Champions. Following his contract extension, these fears no longer exist. Fans of Les Parisiens will get to see Kimpembe don the shirt again. However, whether that is this season or next is still unknown.
