‘I’m happy he loves it but I love it even more’ – Kylian Mbappé reveals his happiness at playing with his brother Ethan

In the aftermath of PSG’s 3-1 victory against Metz, Kylian Mbappé (25) revealed his happiness at being able to play with his brother Ethan Mbappé (16). The France captain’s brother made his PSG debut as a 92nd minute substitute in Les Parisiens’ last game of 2023. Although they were only the pitch together for a matter of minutes, it topped off a perfect birthday for Mbappé as he also scored a brace.

When asked by Presnel Kimpembe for the club’s official accounts about the opportunity to play with his brother, the 25-year-old said, “I’m happy he loves it, but I love it even more. As a big brother, this is extremely pleasing. I didn’t think I was going to experience a special day like this. But this match, I will keep it in my memory.”

Ethan Mbappé has been included in a few PSG match day squads and eventually it became a matter of if not when Luis Enrique handed Kylian’s younger brother his professional debut. The 16-year-old midfielder will be hoping to replicate just some of the mesmerising achievements his brother has achieved in his time at the Parc des Princes.

Ethan Mbappé also had the opportunity to speak about the occasion: “It’s always nice, I started at the Parc des Princes, in front of our supporters, so I am very happy. I hope there will be more matches. It is a great birthday gift for him, I’m very happy for him and for me too.”
