Lyon predicted XI v Monaco: Rayan Cherki and Alexandre Lacazette to start

Alexandre Lacazette, who returned to form in spectacular style with a hat-trick against Toulouse FC on Sunday, is set to start against AS Monaco on Friday night, as is Raya Cherki, despite the France U21 international’s lack of form in recent weeks.

Questions have been asked of Cherki in recent weeks. Whilst the Lyon academy product continues to perform with Les Bleuets, the same is not the case with OL. His performances have even started to draw boos from the Lyon fans, amid reports that he could depart for as little as €10m in January.

There are no new absentees for Pierre Sage to contend with. Johann Lepenant remains sidelined after suffering an injury whilst on France U21 duty in November. His return date has not yet been specified.

Lyon likely lineup v Monaco

Anthony Lopes; Duje Ćaleta-Car, Dejan Lovren, Jake O’Brien; Nicolás Tagliafico, Corentin Tolisso, Maxence Caqueret, Clinton Mata; Rayan Cherki, Alexandre Lacazette, Ernest Nuamah. (L’Éq)
