PSG set conditions for termination of Renato Sanches’ Roma loan

Renato Sanches’ (26) loan to AS Roma has not gone to plan. The Portuguese midfielder looked to have turned a corner at Lille OSC, before making the move to Paris Saint-Germain. However, the frequent injuries that had plagued his career prior to his spell with Les Dogues, returned. After a difficult debut season at PSG, he was sent out on loan to Roma, however, according to Foot Mercatothis deal could be cut short.

Sanches has played a mere 227 minutes for José Mourinho’s side since making the season-long loan move to the Italian capital. He has been affected by injuries, but also a lack of confidence. Mourinho has previously said that he feels the player “fears” getting injured, which is affecting his levels in training, and subsequently, on the pitch too.

As a result, Roma are preparing to call PSG about the termination of Sanches’ loan. The relationship between the two clubs is good, and this could facilitate an agreement. Les Parisiens are not against a termination, however, it must be on the condition that Sanches finds a new club. This will be the job of his agent Jorge Mendes.
