Youssouf Fofana: ‘Next year, if everything goes well, I’ll be a Monaco player.’

France international Youssouf Fofana (24) has expressed a desire to remain at AS Monaco beyond the end of the season, amid links with a departure.

According to Fabrizio Romanomany “top European clubs” are interested in Fofana with RMC Sport reporting interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Juventus. Fofana attracted interest from clubs last summer too, however, with Nottingham Forest and Fulham lining up a move, the midfielder made the choice to remain at the Principality club.

However, it is not a given that Fofana will leave next summer either. As revealed by Get French Football News, Fofana’s contract with Les Monégasques runs until the summer of 2025, and he could be set to see that contract out. As he told Prime Video Sporthe wants to remain at Monaco.

For now, next year, if everything goes well, I’ll be an AS Monaco player,” he replied in response to a question from former Monaco teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni. Interested clubs won’t only need to convince Monaco to sell, but also Fofana to sign.
