Clément Lenglet’s Aston Villa loan spell could be cut short

Clément Lenglet (28) has found game time hard to come by since completing his loan move from Barcelona to Aston Villa, and according to Fabrizio Romanothe Frenchman could be set for an early departure from Villa Park.

Lenglet has not played one minute in the Premier League since his arrival on loan. His only appearances so far for the club have come in the UEFA Europa Conference League, where he has racked up 450 minutes. He is playing a periperhal role, and as a result, his spell at Aston Villa could come to a premature end.

According to Romano, AC Milan have enquired to Barcelona about Lenglet’s current situation with a view to a potential January move. Should they deicde to pursue a move for the France international, it would mean Lenglet’s oan move bein cut short. However, Lenglet isn’t AC Milan’s only target at centre-back. A move for Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior is also being considered, as is the possibility of recalling Matteo Gabbia from his loan spell at Villarreal.
