PSG to participate in FIFA’s revamped Club World Cup in 2025

FIFA have announced the first set of confirmed participants for the new rendition of the Club World Cup which will replace the currently annual tournament. PSG will be one of many teams to participate in the revamped trophy’s inception. The new tournament will see clubs compete in a knockout tournament every 4 years. 

The current tournament poses an international club competition between the continental champions from different footballing bodies. The 2023 edition of the competition has already begun with Manchester City being the favourites for the competition hosted in Saudi Arabia. 

FIFA’s reformatted edition of the Club World Cup will see 32 teams take on each other in a knockout-style competition across 29 days. The first tournament is set to take place in the summer of 2025 with the USA to host the competition. Teams are expected to get a minimum of three rest days in between games during the tournament. 

PSG are one of 12 European teams who will participate in the tournament including the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester City and Inter. Teams from Asia, Africa, Oceania, North America and South America will also participate in the international club competition.
