France manager Didier Deschamps will miss Euro 2024 draw

After his recent back surgery, French national manager Didier Deschamps will not be present at the Euro 2024 draw in Hamburg on Saturday 2nd December.

As reported by L’Équipe, Deschamps has been suffering from back pain for the last few weeks and underwent surgery at the start of the week. In his absence, his assistant Guy Stéphan will take his place and represent France in Hamburg over the weekend.

Speaking about his absence, Deschamps said, “It is not with pleasure that I announce my absence from the draw… However, I will be following the draw attentively. Once we know who we are facing, we can prepare for our games.”
