Yet, the Jordanian has been making waves in Europe for many seasons now, starting from his signing for Cypriot giants APOEL Nicosia back in 2018, coming from the Jordanian club Shabab Al-Ordon, then age 21. There, he went on to make 76 appearances across three seasons, scoring 13 and assisting 11, and attracting interest from Belgian club Oud-Heverlee Leuven.

In the Jupiler Pro League, the right-winger continued his development as a dynamic forward, gaining more and more confidence on the ball to provoke the opposition and create space in the final third. During his final year at the club, he hit new heights as an attacking threat, averaging 4.38 progressive carries and 2.44 successful take-ons every 90 minutes. His creative output led Montpellier to sign the 26-year-old when his contract with Leuven came to an end.

Mosa Al-Taamari compliments Akor Adams

For Al-Taamari, life in Ligue 1 started in the best way possible, as he scored three goals within the first three fixtures at his new club, scoring a double in the 4-1 thrashing of Olympique Lyonnais. French fans discovered a new dribbling sensation, as Mousa combined audacity and energetic verticality to bring constant danger down the right flank of Michel Der Zakarian’s 4-2-3-1 setup.

His role as an inverted winger brought perfect balance to Arnaud Nordin’s (25) more traditional wing play on the left, combining and intertwining with Nigerian striker Akor Adams (23), the better finisher of the two, with whom he has quickly formed a formidable partnership. Only Wissam Ben Yedder and Kylian Mbappé have scored more than Adams this season, and the Nigerian forward owes thanks to the creative Al-Taamari.

Al-Taamari now has three goals and three assists in 16 appearances this season, and although his scoring output has decreased since those exciting few first games, his determination to disbalance opposing defences, creating space for his partners to run into, remains an invaluable asset for MHSC’s attack.

Come the end of the Ligue 1 season, his signing will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most intelligent pieces of business.

Lille target Ajax’s Chuba Akpom https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/lille-target-ajaxs-chuba-akpom/ https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/lille-target-ajaxs-chuba-akpom/#respond Wed, 27 Dec 2023 20:10:47 +0000 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/?p=135886 According to Foot Mercato, LOSC Lille have added Ajax Amsterdam’s Chuba Akpom (28) to their shortlist of players targeted to sign as an alternative to Jonathan David (23), who is currently the only striker at the club.

The Canadian is having a difficult season for Lille in terms of finishing, only scoring five goals in Ligue 1, and often replaced by a repositioned Yusuf Yazici (26). On the other hand, Akpom had a difficult start to his time in the Eredivisie, though he slowly came to life, scoring eight goals in Ajax’s last 12 games. He had joined the Amsterdam side during the summer off the back of an exhilarating 22/23 season, during which he had scored 29 goals in 42 appearances, choosing them ahead of RC Lens who were also after his services in order to replace the departing Loïs Openda (23).

Lille want Akpom on loan

Les Dogues are reportedly looking to sign the striker on a loan as they aim to satisfy head coach Paulo Fonseca, who publicly asked for a new striker following his side’s defeat against Strasbourg in the last gameweek.

Ex-Girondins de Bordeaux and current Southampton player Sékou Mara (21) is also reported as being one of the players being eyed by the Lille board.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Nadiem Amiri targeted by Marseille and Lyon https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/bayer-leverkusens-nadiem-amiri-targeted-by-marseille-and-lyon/ https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/bayer-leverkusens-nadiem-amiri-targeted-by-marseille-and-lyon/#respond Wed, 27 Dec 2023 19:09:51 +0000 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/?p=135883 According to Bild, Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais are both after the signing of Bayer Leverkusen’s Nadiem Amiri (27) as a winter reinforcement.

The attacking midfielder is struggling to find game time in an outstanding Leverkusen side, as his profile doesn’t correspond to what is asked of Xabi Alonso’s double pivot, composed of Granit Xhaka (31) and Exequiel Palacios (25), while Florian Wirtz (20) is irreplaceable in the 10 role. For those reasons, Amiri has only made 14 appearances so far this season, starting four, and may be looking to find a new club this winter.

Amiri had already found an agreement with Marseille last summer

The German’s next destination could therefore be in France, as both Olympiques are looking to add them to their ranks. Marseille had even reportedly found an agreement with the player during the summer, but their failure to qualify for the Champions League meant the club lacked funds to finalise the deal at the time. Les Phocéens are back for a second try, however this time, they are accompanied by their French rivals OL, who will also look to strengthen their squad after a disappointing first half to the season.

On the other side of things, Bayer Leverkusen may be reluctant to let go of Amiri in the winter, as they look ahead to the AFCON during which they will undoubtedly be severely weakened, missing out on Edmond Tapsoba (24), Odilon Kossounou (22),  Victor Boniface (23), Amine Adli (23) and Nathan Tella (24), who are all important members of the squad.

Chelsea target Claudio Echeverri with view to Strasbourg loan https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/chelsea-target-claudio-echeverri-with-view-to-strasbourg-loan/ https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/chelsea-target-claudio-echeverri-with-view-to-strasbourg-loan/#respond Tue, 26 Dec 2023 18:52:38 +0000 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/?p=135852 According to Foot Mercato, under-17 World Cup star Claudio Echeverri (17) could be set to sign for Chelsea FC this winter, before being loaned out to BlueCo-owned RC Strasbourg in order to accumulate experience.

The signing would come as a surprise to some, as Manchester City are currently favourites to enrol the Argentinian, doubling down on River Plate prospects after signing Julián Álvarez (23) from the club in the winter of 2022. The Citizens would then loan Echeverri back to River Plate until next summer, as they had done with Álvarez. FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG are also amongst the clubs reported to be interested in signing the 17-year-old.

Chelsea just behind Manchester City in the race to sign Echeverri

Chelsea are the latest club to have manifested their interest in the attacking midfielder, as the Blues look to add yet another top talent to their exciting portfolio of players. The Millionaires won’t be looking to sell their jewel any lower than his €25 million release clause, though the fee could turn out to be a bargain for whoever pays it if the youngster were to reach anywhere near his apparent potential.

If he were to be loaned to Strasbourg, Echeverri would undoubtedly be an immense addition to Patrick Vieira’s side, who would never have dreamed of signing such a prospect before BlueCo came in.

Lille set to swoop in on Lyon target Largie Ramazani https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/lille-set-to-swoop-in-on-lyon-target-largie-ramazani/ https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/lille-set-to-swoop-in-on-lyon-target-largie-ramazani/#respond Tue, 26 Dec 2023 17:10:44 +0000 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/?p=135853 According to Foot Mercato, Olympique Lyonnais and LOSC Lille are set for a negotiation battle to attract UD Almería winger Largie Ramazani (22) into their ranks.

Lyon were reportedly already after the Belgian during the summer, in order to replace PSG-bound Bradley Barcola (21), though they had opted for Ernest Nuamah (20) instead. However, the ex-FC Nordsjælland player will most probably be participating in the upcoming AFCON with Ghana, and will therefore miss the start of 2024 with Les Gones.

Lille also interested in Ramazani

Lyon are consequently once again after a winger, with the Belgian among the top candidates. They could face strong competition from equally-interested Lille, who have added Ramazani to their shortlist for the winter window. Les Dogues are reportedly looking to strengthen their offensive sector, in order to reach their European ambitions at the end of the season, and have entered contact with Almería to sign their 22-year-old winger.

Ramazani made 18 appearances in La Liga this season, scoring two goals and offering four assists. He has proven to be a valuable asset, being versatile across the attack and bringing verticality and technical prowess to an overall struggling Almería side. He is valued at €6 million by Transfermarkt, though his future fee could be far beyond that, considering the amount of clubs interested in his signing.

Ethan Mbappé makes Ligue 1 debut https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/ethan-mbappe-makes-ligue-1-debut/ https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/ethan-mbappe-makes-ligue-1-debut/#respond Wed, 20 Dec 2023 22:06:15 +0000 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/?p=135575 Tonight against FC Metz, Ethan Mbappé (16), Kylian Mbappé’s (25) younger brother, made his Ligue 1 debut, coming on at the 92nd minute to replace Manuel Ugarte (22).

The midfielder had so far been playing in the under-19 national league for PSG’s u-19 team, scoring three and assisting two in 12 games this season. He had already been a part of the PSG senior squad for four other Ligue 1 games, never leaving the bench.

Ethan Mbappé, yet another midfielder for PSG

He adds to the extensive list of midfielders currently at the club, with an additional player in Gabriel Moscardo (18) almost confirmed to be arriving this winter from Corinthians. The 16-year-old’s inclusion in PSG’s 3-1 win comes as a birthday present for the France captain, who turned 25 today.

No doubt Ethan will look to build off of this appearance and replicate some of what his brother has done with the club.

Brest’s Kamory Doumbia equals former PSG player Edinson Cavani’s record https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/brests-kamory-doumbia-equals-former-psg-player-edinson-cavanis-record/ https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/brests-kamory-doumbia-equals-former-psg-player-edinson-cavanis-record/#respond Wed, 20 Dec 2023 21:34:13 +0000 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/?p=135558 Tonight, Stade Brestois’ Kamory Doumbia (20) became the second-only player in the past 60 years to score four goals in the first half of a Ligue 1 game. He equalled Edinson Cavani’s (36) performance, who had put four past SM Caen’s defence in 2016, during his time at PSG.

Doumbia proved to be a nightmare for FC Lorient’s defence, always lurking to conclude his team’s offensive plays. His first goal at the 22nd minute was particularly sublime, firing home a rocket of a right-footed volley from the edge of the box, straight into the top corner of Yvon Mvogo’s (29) nets. Then came three others, at the 25th, 29th and 48th minute, concluding a historic first-half quadruple for the young Malian, on loan from Stade de Reims.

Doumbia scores four goals in 26 minutes

In only 26 minutes, Doumbia almost equalled his total goal tally in Ligue 1, having scored five goals in 45 games before tonight. His alone performance could potentially have sealed his ticket to participate in this year’s AFCON with Mali, having received his first call-up with his nation back in September of 2022.

‘He’s heading to Paris’ – Corinthians president confirms Gabriel Moscardo PSG transfer https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/hes-heading-to-paris-corinthians-president-confirms-gabriel-moscardo-psg-transfer/ https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/hes-heading-to-paris-corinthians-president-confirms-gabriel-moscardo-psg-transfer/#respond Wed, 20 Dec 2023 16:36:08 +0000 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/?p=135516 Speaking exclusively to Rádio Bandeirantes, Corinthians’ future president Augusto Melo has confirmed that Gabriel Moscardo (18) will join PSG in the coming days: “Unfortunately, the cycle has come to an end, his mind is elsewhere, we gave him the freedom to chose, may he be happy. He’s heading to Paris.”

This further confirms previous information, which indicated that Moscardo had already found an agreement with the Parisians and that the two clubs were entering the final stages of negotiating the transfer, for a fee rumoured to be around €25 million.

Adaptation period required for Moscardo?

Regardless of his talent, the player will come with very little garnered playtime, as mentioned by Melo: “He’s a player with very little time in the professional world, I wish he would stay a lot longer.” Indeed, Moscardo only broke through in the Corinthians first team this season, making 18 appearances in the Brazilian Serie A, less than half of those as a starter. Moving to a whole new continent, he will undoubtedly require an adaptation period, progressively accumulating game time to prove that he is ready for this new challenge.

Moscardo plays in a similar position to that of Manuel Ugarte (22), and will surely look to replicate his new Uruguayan teammate’s excellent start to life as a PSG player.

PSG agree terms with Gabriel Moscardo https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/psg-agree-terms-with-gabriel-moscardo/ https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/psg-agree-terms-with-gabriel-moscardo/#respond Tue, 19 Dec 2023 20:31:46 +0000 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/?p=135478 According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG have entered the final stages of negotiations with Corinthians, in order to sign their young midfielder Gabriel Moscardo (18), after having found an agreement with the player, for a fee reported to be around €25 million.

Following the probable signing of Lucas Beraldo (20), it could therefore be another Brazilian top prospect joining the French capital in the coming weeks, as the Ligue 1 champions aim to set their squad up for the future, with exciting prospects such as Warren Zaïre-Emery (17), Bradley Barcola (21) and Nuno Mendes (21) already amongst their ranks, without forgetting Xavi Simons (20) who is having an excellent season on loan at RB Leipzig.

With Moscardo and Zaïre-Emery, PSG’s midfield could be set for years to come

At 18 years of age, Moscardo played 18 games in the Brazilian Serie A, progressively integrating the starting XI, scoring one goal and providing an assist. He played most of his games in a deep defensive midfielder position, from which he is able to utilize his excellent positioning to recover possession, before pushing forward elegantly, proving extremely difficult to take the ball off of due to his seamless press resistance. Similar to WZE, Moscardo is impressive by his notable maturity at such a young age, able to retain possession in difficult moments, relieving his teammates of pressure and allowing his team’s block to reposition.

He would come to further densify PSG’s already stacked midfield sector, sharing minutes with the equally excellent Manuel Ugarte (22), before potentially becoming a starter further down the line.

PSG closing in on deal for Lucas Beraldo https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/psg-closing-in-on-deal-for-lucas-beraldo/ https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/psg-closing-in-on-deal-for-lucas-beraldo/#respond Tue, 19 Dec 2023 17:01:09 +0000 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/?p=135467 According to Foot Mercato, PSG are close to sealing the deal to sign São Paulo FC’s young centre-back Lucas Beraldo (20), in a transfer worth around €20 million + €5 million in bonuses. His agent reportedly confirmed the transfer was nearly complete, and that the medical test could occur as soon as this week.

The question remains whether the player will join the Parisians this winter, or if he will stay at his club in Brazil until next summer. PSG already have experienced players in Marquinhos (29), Milan Skriniar (28), Lucas Hernández (27) and Danilo Pereira (32) to play the position, though Hernández has been playing at left-back, and Presnel Kimpembe (28) is still struggling with injuries, which could mean that Luis Enrique would want Beraldo immediately.

Lucas Beraldo, one of Brazil’s most promising centre-backs

If Paris were to complete the signing, they would have in their hands one of the top centre-back prospects in the world. Left-footed, the 20-year-old is an elegant ball-playing defender, who appears full of serenity when carrying the ball forward, surprising in maturity considering his age. He is equally defensively solid, always well positioned and sharp in duels, showing to be dominant in the air regardless of his height (1.82m).

No doubt his calm and collected profile would be a big value added to the current PSG side, who in recent times have struggled against high presses, notably against Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
