Ligue 1 side FC Nantes are planning to sell France international goalkeeper Alban Lafont (24), according to a report from Ouest-France.
The former Toulouse and Fiorentina shot-stopper is entering his final year of contract with Les Canaris and is set to end a four-year stay in Nantes. Last season, Lafont was stripped of the captaincy after several error-strewn performances. The French publication understand that La Liga side RC Celta Vigo are showing an interest in Lafont. Celta have yet to submit a bid to their Nantes counterparts.
Because Nantes are planning to part ways with Lafont – who has been called up once by France manager Didier Deschamps – the club’s newly-created recruitment cell have drawn up a shortlist of possible replacements. Ouest–France understand that Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka (23) is among them. However, the Pole would be retained by Nice should Kasper Schmeichel depart the French Riviera. Bulka has started both of Les Aiglons‘ pre-season games.
Spezia Calcio Polish goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski (25) is also being courted. Ouest-France adds that Clermont goalkeeper Mory Diaw (30) – who played a vital part in the Auvergne side’s remarkable past season – is also of interest. A contractual offer has reportedly came forward from Nantes, although the club’s board has denied this.
