Official | André Ayew joins Le Havre

Le Havre AC confirmed the arrival of former Nottingham Forest forward André Ayew (33) ahead of Saturday night’s 0-0 draw against AS Monaco. The length of the Ghanaian international’s contract was not revealed by the Ligue 1 club.

Ayew has been a free agent since a short stint at Premier League side Nottingham Forest. He failed to make a notable impact at the club following his arrival in February and therefore did not see his contract renewed. Ayew, who has played in the Middle East, was reportedly keen to remain in one of Europe’s top five leagues, and Foot Mercato revealed the interest of an initially unnamed Ligue 1 club on Saturday.

Ayew presented to Le Havre fans

It quickly became clear that the team in question was Le Havre. His arrival was confirmed just before the match against Monaco with Ayew being presented to the fans at the Stade Océane. The former Olympique de Marseille forward returns to Ligue 1 after an eight-year absence.
