Following his departure from Stade Rennais in November, it was thought that Bruno Genesio would take a break from the game. The Frenchman was reportedly mentally fatigued from his time with Les Rennais, however, he has been strongly linked with a swift return.
Genesio was heavily linked to the hot seat at former club Olympique Lyonnais following the sacking of Fabio Grosso. L’Équipe reported that talks took place between Lyon and Genesio, however, OL didn’t want to make a rash decision and afforded Pierre Sage time in his interim role. Following a string of positive results (three wins in the past four Ligue 1 games), Sage is now set to remain manager of Les Gones until the end of the season.
However, Lyon aren’t the only interested party. Beşiktaş are also in the market for a new manager and submitted an offer to Genesio eight days ago, according to Foot Mercato. However, as per the French publication, Genesio is yet to give his response.
