AS Monaco’s Gullermo Maripán (29) is a serious target for Stade Rennais in January, with the struggling side looking to sign between two and five players next month, according to Ouest France.
Maripán has been a central figure in Monaco’s defence, featuring in 12 of the Principality club’s 17 Ligue 1 games. He has often featured at the centre of a three-man defence for Adi Hütter’s side, however, he may be the subject of interest in January.
Rennes have struggled in the first half of the season and envisage a serious recruitment drive in order to salvage their campaign. Julien Stéphan, who replaced Bruno Genesio, will be backed, with up to five players potentially coming to Roazhon Park.
Maripán is one of the players being “seriously considered” by Les Rennais with the defence being identified as an area of improvement. The Chilean international’s contract expires in the summer of 2025 and it remains to be seen whether Les Monégasques are open to a departure.
